Description of Business:
Legit Online Jobs seek to facilitate online work-at-home opportunities for registered members. The focus is mainly on online ad posting though they touch on other job types as well e.g. data entry. The project returns to range from tens to thousands of dollars per day. The first red flag is that the registration fees are marked as discounted by 75% from USD 199.95 to USD 49.95 and the offer is set to end at midnight on the day you visit the site. Problem is that if you access the site after one week, you will notice that the offer is still set to end that day. In other words, it is a never-ending sale. This is really pushing the line between an aggressive sales strategy and outright deception.
Legit Online Jobs also suspiciously criticizes the BBB (Better Business Bureau) terming it irresponsible and unfair. I call this suspicious because granted the BBB is not perfect, but few legitimate businesses would want to go all out and attack the BBB. Legit Online Jobs claim membership of some internet security organizations that if closely analyzed, are more relevant to securing the transacting process as opposed to vetting the Legit Online Jobs' business model. These are just a few of the potentially sticky issues. Tread very carefully on this one!
Pros:
1. Ad posting is a legitimate revenue-generating activity (Problem is that they have grossly exaggerated the expected returns).
Cons:
1. Registrations costs are in a permanent state of "discounting".
2. Misleading sales pitch - Projected returns are over-hyped.
3. There are no refunds for the membership fees if you did not use a credit card to make the payment.
4. Some of the jobs offered through Legit Online Jobs (e.g. mass emailing) could land you in trouble in some countries and jurisdictions.
(a) Scam - illegal / unethical job or business opportunity designed to trick people out of their money.
Spam - marketing of job or business opportunity, which does not pay out or provides very little value to the job/business seekers.
